On this section, you can find the terms of sale applied by SARDISSIMO.
There are details regarding the purchase procedures, payment methods, safety, stages of the order process,
shippings and, in general, all the information needed by the customers.

1. Application of general terms of sale

The general terms of sale outlined below (hereafter known as "general conditions"),
govern the contractual relationship between any user of the website and the company Produzioni Tipiche di Sardegna S.n.c., whose registered office is situated at Via Repubblica, 8 - 09020 Turri (SU) - Italy and registered on the Camera di Commercio di Cagliari with VAT r.n. 03163660925 (hereafter known as "SARDISSIMO").
These general conditions shall be the only ones applicable and replace all other conditions, except in the case of express written consent. SARDISSIMO may be occasionally obliged to modify certain provisions of its general conditions. It is therefore necessary to re-read the said conditions before each purchase on the site.

We consider that in submitting your order, you have read and accepted
our general conditions of sale without reserve.
Any order by the customer implies a tacit acceptance of the present general conditions of sale and without reserve. Any clause accompanying a customer's order or any other document that is in opposition to, or which adds a new element to the present general conditions, will not be accepted by SARDISSIMO.

3. How to place an order

The product catalogue is divided into a number of different categories, just like a real supermarket.
All of the products on offer are ancient or modern expressions of the Sardinians' culinary culture.
You can view the item description using the internal search engine or by clicking on the boxes featuring products on promotion and, more generally, on the individual categories, logos or items shown on the site.
Once you have decided you want to purchase a specific item, you can add it to your shopping cart, taking care to specify the desired quantity. You can change the quantity of each product in the cart, remove existing items, proceed to the order form by clicking on the Checkout button or carry on shopping.

SARDISSIMO does not require you to order a minimum number of items or to reach a minimum order value. Moreover, you do not need to register before placing an order.
Orders can be placed by individuals or by companies.

4. Order form

In the order form (please choose the one that best match the nature of your business) you need to fill in the buyer and the consignee's details with the items you intend to purchase.
A correct compilation of the fields will allow a prompt reply and a faster order shipping.
It is not allowed to deliver the order at P.O. boxes.

The order form is already filled for logged in registered users. They can also take advantage immediately of possible customized discounts of the items present in the cart.

After the compilation of the details, you can visualize the order summary which shows the goods bought, partial and total amounts to pay, VAT rates applied, shipping expenses.

If the details are accurate you can proceed to the payment choosing between the available options.
By e-mail, you will receive the notice of your order and the notices about the stages of the order process.
The registered customers can track online their own orders in the reserved area (I am Sardissimo).

Orders will be placed as soon as possible.

Product availability

In general, the products in our catalogue are in stock. However, SARDISSIMO may not, under any circumstances, be held liable for the temporary unavailability of one or more products.
SARDISSIMO commits to informing the customer about the unavailability of one or more of the ordered products before the order is completed.
Without prejudice to the customer's right to return, by sending off the order the customer accepts that the delivery may be partial, containing only those products that are available out of all those ordered. Moreover, the customer renounces his or her right to make a claim for compensation and/or damages based on product unavailability.

5. Order cancellation

It is possible to cancel the orders still not yet dispatched keeping in touch with the Customer service in good time.
The registered customers can cancel their orders entering the personal orders' database in the reserved area (I am Sardissimo).

If you have payed by credit card, we will request to our bank the immediate cancellation of the transaction and the refund of the amount paid.

6. VAT and currency

The product prices on are VAT included.
The prices are shown in Euro (EUR), United Kingdom Pound Sterling (GBP)
and United States Dollars (USD).
The currency can be selected at any time from the Currency option on the top side of the page.

SARDISSIMO will apply the VAT rates in accordance with the Italian regulation D.P.R: 633/72
with some exceptions concerning the sales within the European Union or outbound.
The VAT amount, if due, will be calculated at the order's request.

Customs duties

When the transaction is a sale to an extra-EU customer, indirect taxation and import duties will be charged in the destination country as the case may be. This means that the buyer is fully responsible for the payment of all the custom duties and taxes as per current laws in their country of residence. Therefore, for extra-UE customers, the prices to be considered are those before tax and duties (net price).

Fiscal documentation for companies and professional customers

The goods always travel accompanied by an order's summary.
SARDISSIMO send a copy of the invoice in Adobe Acrobat PDF format when the order is dispatched.
Customers based in Italy must consider this document as a pro-forma invoice, the valid fiscal document (electronic invoice) will be made available once it has been approved by the Italian Tax Agency. Customers may retrieve the fiscal invoice directly from their certified telematic address or from their restricted area of the Tax Agency platform. Italian customers are therefore kindly invited to fill in the specific form with the necessary information (PEC address and/or SDI Destination Code).

Fiscal documentation for private customers (consumers)

The goods always travel accompanied by an order's summary.
Pursuant to article 2, subsection 1 Italian D.P.R. 696/96 (dismissal of the obligation to issue a fiscal document by mail), SARDISSIMO will issue an invoice only if requested by the customer.
This request can be made at the moment of the order's placement.

7. Shipping and delivery

SARDISSIMO ships orders throughout Italy, to the EU and round the world with:

We are delighted to receive orders from our customers, and we treat each and every order with the greatest of care.
Each shipment is entrusted to the courier with the greatest coverage in your local area. You will be informed of the name of the courier to which the delivery has been assigned.

The shipping charges are calculated during the order process and depend on the delivery address, the selected payment method and the type of item ordered.
Quantity-based discounts are available.
Once the order has been dispatched, the delivery times are 24-48 hours for Italy and 6-8 days for the rest of the world outside Italy.
SARDISSIMO commits to doing everything possible to respect the standard delivery times, but may not under any circumstances be held liable for damages caused by delays.

The shipment of fresh products

SARDISSIMO gives you the opportunity to purchase a number of products defined as "Fresh". These products are sold ex-works.
Thanks to the use of special packaging, the foodstuffs will be perfectly stored right up to the time of delivery.
Due to the nature of these products, the shipping costs are slightly higher. The additional shipping charge is applied if there is at least one fresh product on the order; in such cases, the entire order will be treated as "Fresh", so it will be shipped on the Tuesday after the date of acceptance of the order, with delivery on the Wednesday (with the exception of certain areas, to which the delivery will be made on the Thursday).
The fresh products can only be sent to addresses in Italy, and SARDISSIMO shall not be held liable for any damage to which the purchaser is subject as a result of incorrect storage, use or marketing.

At present, it is not possible for us to send wine or food products to a number of countries, including: the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, South America.

We recommend that you always check the number and condition of the packages being delivered to you.
If there are anomalies or the packaging is damaged, please inform the courier immediately.
We shall cover the cost of replacing and re-delivering the missing and/or damaged products.
SARDISSIMO will accept no liability for damaged/incorrect packages unless you inform the courier of the discrepancy at the time of delivery.

Our customer service team will contact you to resolve any issues relating to the delivery of the goods you have ordered.

Article 12 of Italian Presidential Decree IVA 633/1972 states that, since transport is an "additional service" with respect to the "main service" (the sale of the goods), the same rate is applied to the transport as is applied to the sale itself. If the sale involves items subject to various VAT rates, the transport costs must be divided in proportion to the value of the single items and each proportional part of the spend shall be subject to a separate VAT rate.

    Please send a copy of the bank transfer confirmation and the order number to our Customer service team within 5 days of placing the order.
    SARDISSIMO cannot guarantee the availability of the items for more than 5 days after the date on which you place the order.

9. Guarantee

SARDISSIMO guarantees that the products delivered will be the same as those shown on the site, and also guarantees that the package will be intact at the time of delivery.
The appearance and colours of the products offered for sale may not correspond precisely to the real appearance and colours of the products due to the influence of the web browser or monitor being used to view them online. Moreover, due to packaging variations made by the manufacturer, the photographs may not reflect the exact appearance of the product delivered.

SARDISSIMO does not sell used or irregular products, products with defects in their manufacture or processing or products of a lower quality than the standard market quality.
The essential characteristics of each product are shown on the item description.

If the product's essential characteristics have changed or it is not fit for consumption (in the case of food or drink products), SARDISSIMO commits to substituting the product in question at its own expense, within a maximum of 30 (thirty) days from the original delivery date.

SARDISSIMO guarantees compliance with all applicable regulations on the storage of food products up until the time at which they are delivered to the address stated on the order. The manufacturer's warranty applies to all products sold. For packaged products, the manufacturer is also responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the indications stated on the package.

Craft products and Sardinian knives

All of the items in this category are covered by a 24-month guarantee against defects, in accordance with the terms of Italian Legislative Decree No. 24 (February 2002).
The guarantee of 24 (twenty-four) months is applicable only to private individuals (consumers).

The SARDISSIMO guarantee covers the item against manufacturing defects.
Any breakages or manufacturing defects that appear within 24 months of the purchase date and are deemed (after a careful check) to be due to the manufacturer will be repaired (or replaced) free-of-charge, at the manufacturer's expense, within a maximum of 30 (thirty) days from the original delivery date.
Defects due to accidents, improper use or unauthorised repairs or alterations are not covered by the guarantee.

For retailers or other resellers that purchase the products for re-sale to third parties, the duration of the guarantee is 12 (twelve) months.

10. Right to return

All items purchased from SARDISSIMO are subject to the terms of Italian Legislative Decree No. 21/2014, on the right to return products. This decree entitled the consumer to return products to the retailer and to be reimbursed for them.
The right to return applies to consumers only - i.e. retailers and any other parties who purchase items in order to re-sell them to third parties are excluded.
It is not possible to apply the right of return to perishable goods.

As per the terms of Italian Legislative Decree No. 21, the customer can exercise his or her right to withdraw from the purchasing contract by sending a registered letter to that effect giving 15 working days notice. The letter should be sent to the following address:

The customer may send an e-mail, giving the same notice period, to our Customer care by e-mail, on condition that the communication is confirmed by registered letter within the next 48 hours.

Should the customer decide to exercise his or her right to withdraw from the purchasing contract, he or she must return - at his or her own expense - the unused, intact item, in its original packaging or similar packaging. The customer must also pay any customs charges relating to the return within 15 working days (the date of sending shall be taken to be that shown on the postmark).
There is no penalty for withdrawing from the contract, and the only costs for which the customer is liable are those for the return of the item(s). The original shipping costs are covered by SARDISSIMO.

The item(s) must be accompanied by fiscal or transport documents.
No cash-on delivery or carriage forward consignments will be accepted.

Once you have informed SARDISSIMO of your intention to return the item(s), please follow these instructions:

  • Item(s) returned due to defect

    SARDISSIMO shall cover the cost of shipping the replacement item.
    The defective item shall not be collected at the same time as the replacement item is delivered, so please have the defective item ready for collection by the courier.
  • Item(s) returned due to breakage

    SARDISSIMO shall cover the cost of shipping the replacement item.
    The defective item shall not be collected at the same time as the replacement item is delivered, so please have the defective item ready for collection by the courier.
  • Item(s) returned because the customer is exercising his or her right to return

    The customer is liable for the cost of sending the item back to SARDISSIMO, as per the procedure set out above.

Any customer using one of the returns procedures indicated above is entitled to a reimbursement (or replacement, if preferred). The reimbursement will be made within 30 days of the return of the item(s).
If the customer paid by credit card or bank transfer, we will cancel the transaction and reimburse the amount paid by card or bank transfer. If reimbursement by bank transfer is the preferred option, the customer must supply the details of the bank account (IBAN code) to which the reimbursement is to be sent.
